Picking wildflowers in the middle of summer is always a treat.
Got to wear long sleeves, even though it is hotter than all get out. Otherwise, the bugs and weeds will bite and scratch your one's skin.
And when there is more than enough flowers and herbs, drying them is always an option.
Yesterday I visited my parents on their farm in Wisconsin.
It's not really a working farm. My father is retired and they lease their fields to other farmers and grow enough vegetables for themselves. They also have chickens. They also have a creek for fishing on the Nippersink. There is a foot bridge where the grandkids go to fish.
My mom likes the color red.
My brother gave my mom this funky pot last year for Mother's Day.
My sister gave her this chocolate chicken from France.
There is something about white roses which calls to me. If I had to put my finger on it, it would be the absence of color brings out their soft layered petals. They feel very soothing and calming to me. What do you think?
