Currently, I am being inspired by the bounty of summer. The bounty of late summer flowers and harvest in rich and warm jewel tones is transferred to my painting palette. I love this time of year. While hiking in Glacier National Park, I felt in awe of the colorful wildflowers.
I took many photos of the wildflowers and plan to make paintings inspired by some of these wildflowers.
The wild bladder campion flowers are some of my summer favorites.
They magically pop up unexpectantly in wet soil.
I enjoy painting them because of their dainty white flowers, sturdy stems, and alizarin crimson veining.
I most especially enjoy and appreciate the flower's hardy and optimistic behavior.
Today's painting is inspired by my garden roses in a milk glass vase on vintage embroidered table cloth.
I really find joy in bringing the outdoors inside especially during summer. I love the natural lines juxtaposed with the linear tall vase.
There are many pretty things growing in the garden now. These are fava bean blossoms. They look like tiny orchids.
Caraway flowers.
A pink cosmo flower.
A bright nasturtium flower.
