Taking a Walk in My Hometown
Yesterday after running errands I took a walk in Wilder Park by the Elmhurst Art Museum and Library.
The weather was beautiful. The grass was a little wet. But I tried to stay on the trails.
I stopped in the conservatory, which was full of pink geraniums.
There's the library. And below Wilder Mansion. (I remember when it served as the library.)
Onion Caraway Bread
I made a delicious onion bread I found in the King Arthur Flour Baking Book. I don't usually think of onions in a sweet bread. But this combination is like comfort food.
A rich dough with butter, sugar, milk, and sourdough starter. Then on the second rise, adding chopped onion and caraway sprinkled on top. Also baked on a bed of cornmeal sprinkles. This is one of my new favorite breads.
