Finding wonderful foods at the local farmers' market to use as inspiration for new still life oil paintings.   This is a floral-infused Camembert cheese. Michigan blueberries.

In my studio, I am working on peonies and florals, more birds of various size canvas and wood panels, and also some fun and delicious still life paintings. Some peaches I plan to paint. Sunny sunflowers inspire me.  

While I don't sell these or get sponsored for mentioning these soaps, I love them!  I used to buy the goat milk brand ZUM at my local grocers.  But these are larger for the same price, locally made, and come in so many wonderful varieties.  I use them and buy them as gifts as well.  The brand is Mion and they are sold online and locally at my city's farmers market.  I really love all the owner's projects and offerings.  

When I start a new canvas, it's always a little intimidating. There is no mistake yet, no breakthrough either.  It's quite the task to lay that first brushstroke. Stay tuned for some new larger works soon!
