I purchased some beautiful yellow lilies the other day and am so excited that they are now in full bloom.
Because now they are ready to paint!
I plan to paint both in watercolor and oil paint. I can't wait to see how the paintings turn out. I'll keep you posted.
Who says you can't can in the winter? Today I made a delicious citrus vanilla bean marmalade from a Ball Canning Best of magazine/cookbook I had purchased in late summer 2016 at the grocer's. I thought I was all through canning after the last tomato was off the vine. But the winter has made me a little stir crazy and the abundance of fresh citrus, all of it grown directly here in the USA right now, had me feeling the canning bells ringing. So today I made this recipe. My favorite part -- and the reason I was so attracted to it -- was the three citrus and then the added vanilla bean pods. Marmalade can be very bitter....

What are you favorite home and decorating magazines? I have really enjoyed reading this month's Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, and especially the new book by Domino. The Domino Your Guide to a Stylish Home has a chapter on art, which is really a great basic decorating 101 about creating groupings, vignettes, leaning art, framing art, and many more topics. I hope to share some of other examples and ideas I learned from this book and applied in my home. Stay tuned!
